You are about to enter the portal for CQPweb, an advanced concordancer which permits you to search corpora, electronic archives of biomedical articles, for search terms or grammatical constructions. For example, you can search any of our corpora for sentences using a particular word, such as 'pain', or you can search using part of speech tags, such as _NN2, which would return all of the sentences using plural forms of nouns. There are instructions in the left-hand menu about the use of such part of speech tags.
At present, we have 3 corpora available for searching: 1) meta-analyses and systematic reviews, 2) midwifery and perinatal care and 3) randomized controlled trials. You can perform a simple query whereby you search an entire corpus for a particular word or construction, or you can perform a restricted query narrowing your search to one journal, article or even section of an article.
On various pages, there are options to toggle on or off part of speech tags which label the part of speech of every word in your search results like_II this_DD1.
As this is a beta site, we appreciate your patience and look forward to your advice on how to improve this service.
